Abhyangam Massage Treatment

This massage treatment is very good for treating obesity, pain in the body, sexual weakness, fatigue, removes toxins, delays aging, promotes development of muscles, improves blood circulation, beautifies skin, induces sound sleep, promotes vitality, enhances flexibility etc.

Famous ayurvedic warm oil massage is done with two therapists working on either side of the patient, adopting seven standard positions with slow, fast, and vigorous strokes.

Both therapists works in tandem, synchronizing their strokes and kneading according to the circulatory and marma points for about 45 to 60 minutes.

In this massage, deep-seated and long stagnant toxins in the joints and tissues are loosened and released into the elimination system through natural toxin-release processes.

Abhyangam is part of the poorvakarmas or preparatory measure of panchakarma treatment in ayurveda. It is also one of the most rejuvenating treatments of ayurveda, especially in the Kerala tradition. This massage along with steam bath produces great results. It is also one of the seasonal preventive care treatments.
